Lone Star Grillz “Beer Brats w/Onions"
Remember to always wash your hands prior to preparing. Use food grade gloves where appropriate to prevent contamination.
Recipe and Ingredients:
-
7 to 8 Bratwurst
-
½ Stick Butter
-
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
-
2 Medium Sliced Yellow Onions
-
1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
-
1 Tsp. Ground Thyme
-
1 Tsp. Grainy Mustard
-
1 Tbsp. Lone Star Grills Texas Fusion
-
2 Cloved of Chopped Garlic
-
12oz. of your favorite Beer
-
Good Bread/Buns for serving
DIRECTIONS:
ALWAYS START BY WASHING YOUR HANDS PRIOR TO PREPARING ANY FOOD FOR FOOD SAFETY.
-
Begin by lighting your Santa Maria Grill with a medium sized fire (we used Oak/Hickory Wood).
-
Place a 12” Cast-Iron Skillet onto the grates directly over the hot fire.
-
Add Butter, Olive Oil, Onions, Brown Sugar, Thyme, Mustard, LSG Texas Fusion, stir to combine and lower your grates closer to the heat to begin the Sautee’.
-
Allow to cook for a few minutes to reduce and allow the onions to begin becoming translucent, then add Garlic and stir in.
-
Once Garlic becomes fragrant, add Bratwurst to skillet along with beer. Make sure the Brats are worked down into the onions for better beer coverage.
-
Bring to a boil and turn the Brats every few minutes as needed for even cooking.
-
Approximately 30-45 minutes later, OR when the Brats reach a safe cooked temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit in the deepest-coolest part of the center, remove from skillet and place directly over the fire to sear.
-
Once seared to your liking, place back into skillet for serving.
-
Serve with bread or anything you like! ENJOY!
