Lone Star Grillz “Hot Honey Jalapeno Ribs”
Remember to always wash your hands prior to preparing. Use food grade gloves where appropriate to prevent contamination.
Recipe and Ingredients:
-
Baby Back Ribs (we did 3 slabs in this video)
-
Lone Star Grillz “Texas Bold” Rub
-
16oz. Honey (use local honey if you can)
-
2 tablespoons of Red Pepper Flakes
-
2 teaspoons of Black Pepper
-
2 teaspoons of Garlic Powder
-
Jalapeno Slices (fresh)
HOT HONEY DIRECTIONS: (amounts above are enough for 3 slabs of baby back ribs) Place honey, red pepper flakes, black pepper and garlic powder into a small pot over low-medium heat. Mix well and heat for a few minutes until it begins to bubble, then turn off the heat, allow it to cool slightly and strain it into a jar/bowl, then set aside until needed.
DIRECTIONS:
ALWAYS START BY WASHING YOUR HANDS PRIOR TO PREPARING ANY FOOD FOR FOOD SAFETY.
-
Pre-heat your Smoker to 225-250 Degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Unpackage baby Back Ribs, remove membrane (see video for info).
-
Pat dry ribs on both sides with a paper towel.
-
Season both sides of ribs generously with LSG “Texas Bold” or use your favorite Rib rub.
-
Place ribs on smoker, close lid and begin cooking.
-
Allow them to cook for 3-4 hours or until the bark is set well (when you can touch it and it doesn’t move)
-
Remove the ribs, place each slab in its own foil boat (see video), cover generously with hot honey and fresh jalapeno slices, place ribs back onto smoker and allow them to continue to cook until tender.
-
Baby Back Ribs will normally be perfectly tender between 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit, use a meat thermometer to check temperature and determine tenderness. When the probe feels like you’re pushing it into a jar of peanut butter, they are done.
-
Remove, rest for a few minutes, slice and serve!
