Lone Star Grillz “Stuffed Portabella Mushrooms” El Patron

Remember to always wash your hands prior to preparing. Use food grade gloves where appropriate to prevent contamination.

Recipe and Ingredients:

  • Portabella (Also called Portobello) Mushrooms (Be sure to choose Mushrooms that are as fresh as possible with deep cap cavities for extra space to stuff with your favorite ingredients).
  • Your favorite Stuffing Ingredients: We used chopped bell peppers, chopped onions, chopped garlic, sliced jalapenos, pizza sauce, pepperoni, provolone cheese, cheddar cheese, pepperjack cheese).
  • LSG Texas Fusion Rub (or your favorite salt, pepper, garlic based rub).

Directions:

  1. Unpackage and rinse mushrooms.
  2. Carefully trim edges and stems down using a sharp knife, but so not over trim! It’s important to keep the cap sides high to hold in the ingredients you stuff the mushrooms with.
  3. Coat all surfaces of mushrooms with Olive Oil.
  4. Season on all sides with LSG Texas Fusion (or your favorite rub).
  5. Stuff mushrooms with your favorite ingredients (see ours above in ingredients list).
  6. Pre-heat El Patron (or whatever grill you use for indirect cooking/smoking) to 225-250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Place mushrooms onto El Patron for 30-45 minutes or until they are done to your liking.
  8. Remove from the cooker, place onto a bed of Wild Rice (or whatever you like to serve with).

ENJOY!
