Lone Star Grillz “JUICY Chicken Breast”

Remember to always wash your hands prior to preparing. Use food grade gloves where appropriate to prevent contamination. 

Recipe and Ingredients: 

  • Chicken Breasts (we used 4 in this video)

  • Morton’s Coarse Kosher Salt

  • Homemade Salt-Free Rub (Equal parts of Black Pepper, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder) we used 1 tablespoon of each in this video

  • Olive Oil

  • Your favorite side dishes

DIRECTIONS:

ALWAYS START BY WASHING YOUR HANDS PRIOR TO PREPARING ANY FOOD FOR FOOD SAFETY.

  1. Unpackage and Trim your Chicken Breasts to your liking

  2. Place Chicken on a tray w/warming rack to keep it elevated during salt brine

  3. Apply ½ teaspoon of Morton’s Coarse Kosher Salt to all sides/surfaces of each chicken breast (if you lean slightly to the generous side, you will get better results, but be careful if you’re on a low-sodium diet)

  4. Place chicken w/tray into the fridge overnight uncovered

  5. Before the cook, remove the chicken from the fridge and coat with Olive Oil on all sides

  6. Coat with salt-free rub (recipe above) generously

  7. Pre-Heat your smoker to 275 Degrees Fahrenheit

  8. Place chicken on smoker indirect when fully pre-heated

  9. Flip once during cook about half way through

  10. Remove each chicken breast when it reaches a temperature of 158-60 degrees Fahrenheit in the deepest coolest part of the center of thickest area

  11. Rest in foil for 10 minutes

  12. Slice and serve!
